Meet Cannoli

WienerDog’s real name is Cannoli. He’s a curious, persistent dachshund with a nose for finding things — especially answers.

Cannoli approaches a good question much the way he approaches an interesting scent: investigate carefully, follow the trail, and don’t give up too soon. He’s intelligent, friendly, and just mischievous enough to keep things interesting.

When he isn’t sniffing through facts, records, and useful tools, Cannoli is usually thinking about food. His favorite treat is, naturally, a cannoli. He also has a suspiciously strong interest in pickles — especially Pickletree pickles.

He even has an unofficial home star: WienerDog Star, Ask WienerDog’s nickname for the real cataloged star HIP 33316 in Canis Major. It is not an official IAU star name — just one more place WienerDog has managed to leave his mark.

Most of all, Cannoli believes a good question deserves a useful answer. If there’s something worth finding, he’ll keep looking until he tracks it down.
